IN THE HOUSE
MEET TIFFANY JACKSON |
“We all have a responsibility to lift up communities that have been victimized by oppression and lack of opportunity.” says Tiffany Jackson, Program Manager for Hospitality House’s Employment Program. “ I am committed to extending that hand of opportunity - as someone once did for me - to help individuals achieve their aspirations.”
From humble beginnings as an on-call worker a decade ago, Tiffany now leads Hospitality House’s diverse team of workforce warriors. Her team is committed to equity and employment success for low-income and homeless job seekers. Tiffany’s leadership and vision have helped establish the Hospitality House Employment Program as a highly-regarded model for the City. Tiffany has dedicated herself to tirelessly elevating the needs of vulnerable job seekers. “I’ve known that same struggle that my community faces,” Tiffany explains. “I am passionate in my belief that community-based programs, guided by the lived experiences of low-income job seekers, can influence best practices in workforce systems to truly help everyone in need.” Every year, Hospitality House’s Employment Program offers options for gainful employment and ongoing support by helping community residents remove barriers to employment, secure living wage jobs, and pursue career options. Last year alone, nearly 300 job-seekers found full-or part-time jobs through the Hospitality House Employment Program. Tiffany and her Employment team make connections with dozens of Bay Area employers through hiring and job fairs, and one-on-one relationship-building to connect hundreds of job seekers to good paying jobs. “In the past five years, we have planned, marketed and launched multiple job fairs at the San Francisco Public Library and other venues, bringing in hundreds of Bay Area employers and nearly 1,000 job seekers.” says Tiffany. “Our Neighborhood Job Center has set the standard as one of the City’s most successful and innovative job centers.” Representing Hospitality House, Tiffany also leads a citywide coalition of community-based workforce providers called the Homeless Workforce Collaborative which advocates for low-income job seekers, better workforce practices, and increased workforce investments throughout the City. In Summer 2023, Tiffany was recognized by City leaders as a key voice for low-income job seekers by being appointed to the Citywide Committee on Workforce Alignment, to help influence workforce policies and investments. “With gratitude and honor…I am eager to contribute to the Committee’s mission of aligning strategies that champion equity, ensuring that every individual has a meaningful and represented place…and to be a steadfast voice for the unheard.” Lastly, Tiffany says, “ I believe that by working together, we can build a stronger and more vibrant community for all.” We are grateful that Tiffany Jackson has brought her voice to Hospitality House. |
